Ingredients for Cheeseburger Pizza

Ingredients for Cheeseburger Pizza
  • Pizza Dough: 1 recipe worth (makes 2 pizzas)
  • Ground Beef: 1 pound lean meat, perfect for even browning
  • Mozzarella: 5-6 cups shredded, for that perfect cheese pull
  • Dill Pickles: 2/3 cup sliced coins, adds delightful crunch
  • Onion: 1/3 cup chopped, for extra flavor

Sauce Mix

  • Ketchup: 2/3 cup, base for burger sauce
  • Mustard: 1/3 cup, adds tangy kick
  • Mayonnaise: 1.5 tablespoons, creates creamy texture

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prep Work: Prepare pizza dough and heat oven to 450°F
  2. Pre-bake: Shape dough and bake for 6 minutes
  3. Cook Beef: Brown meat in skillet, drain excess grease
  4. Mix Sauce: Combine ketchup, mustard, and mayo until smooth
  5. Layer: Spread sauce, add cheese layer, beef, onions, and pickles
  6. Final Bake: Top with remaining cheese and bake 8-12 minutes until golden

Cooking Techniques

Pre-baking your pizza dough for 6 minutes gives it a perfect base – crispy on the outside but still chewy inside! When cooking your ground beef, use a wooden spoon to break it into small, even pieces. This helps every bite taste just like a real cheeseburger.

For the best melty cheese coverage, add it in two layers – a light sprinkle under the toppings and a generous amount on top.

Make It Your Own

Love extra toppings on your burgers? Add them to your pizza! Try crispy bacon pieces, sliced tomatoes, or shredded lettuce (add these fresh after baking). Want it spicier? Mix some hot sauce into your sauce blend or add jalapeños.

For a lighter version, try ground turkey instead of beef, or skip the meat for a vegetarian take with mushrooms and plant-based cheese.

Serving Suggestions

Serve your cheeseburger pizza hot from the oven while the cheese is perfectly melted. Cut it into triangles or squares – both work great! Add a side of french fries or a fresh green salad to complete your burger-joint-meets-pizzeria experience.

For extra fun, put out small bowls of extra pickles, diced onions, and your favorite burger condiments so everyone can add their own toppings.

Storage Tips

Keep leftover pizza in an airtight container in your fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop it in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes – this keeps the crust crispy! If you’re using the microwave, add a small cup of water alongside your pizza to keep it from getting tough.

Want to make ahead? Pre-cook your ground beef and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days before making your pizza.
